Dometic's CARB-compliant day-cab air conditioning systems are designed to meet the space constraints and operational requirements of Class 8 trucks. The 7,000 BTUs/hr auxiliary HVAC system runs on 12-volt power from the truck's absorbed glass mat (AGM) batteries, providing up to 1 1/2 hours of service with three batteries when the truck's engine is off. A built-in low-voltage cut-off circuit ensures that the batteries will always retain sufficient capacity to start the truck's engine.
The compact inside unit is mounted in a composite enclosure with built-in discharge ducts and thermostat control. It connects with the outside condensing unit with reusable precharged quick-connect refrigerant linesets. The turnkey package also includes a 2,000-Watt inverter, high-performance alternator and AGM batteries.
The battery-powered HVAC systems are easy to install with no special tools and are virtually maintenance free with no moving parts aside from the air conditioning components. They have been extensively road tested and field proven with hundreds of thousands of miles of over-the-road usage.
